Pupil Barrister Christopher Machin

Overview

Christopher is a common law practitioner and is building his practice across all areas of criminal, civil and family work. He originally studied history at the University of Bristol and went on to enjoy a successful career as a history teacher and assistant-head.

After teaching for twelve years, Christopher undertook the Graduate Diploma in Law at Manchester Metropolitan University and achieved a distinction. Following this, he was awarded an outstanding on the BPTC and was top of his year in family law and opinion writing. He also represented MMU on their mooting team in two national competitions. Christopher was awarded a Lord Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn and a Buchanan Prize.

Christopher is Direct Access qualified and is registered to work in the Youth Court. In addition, he is an ADR-ODR International accredited civil-commercial mediator.

In his spare time, Christopher enjoys cooking with chilis, climbing, snowboarding and cars.
