After a career working in TV and Radio media and the Arts Emily undertook the GDL at University of Law while working part time at commercial firm Pinsent Masons. She formed part of the committee which set up the very first Bar Society at ULaw and organised events such as advocacy skills workshops and a talk from an eminent female QC about women at the Bar. Emily went on to be President of the Bar Society at BPP Manchester while completing the BPTC, as well as Student Director of the Children’s Rights Advocacy Group. In that role Emily assisted the founder of the project to set up a new pro bono initiative to advocate for families of children excluded from school.
Emily spent two years volunteering with the pro bono charity The Personal Support Unit assisting litigants in person in the family courts.
Emily commenced a Family pupillage in September 2017 under the guidance of Louise McCallum and will be accepting instructions from March 2018.
