Practice Director: Robin Butchard



Robin Butchard started his career as a barristers' clerk in London in 1962 in the Chambers of Sir David Calcutt. In the late nineties, as Practice Manager at St Philips in Birmingham, he was persuaded to move a little further north to become Senior Clerk and Practice Director at 10 Park Square, Leeds in 1999.

Robin has been a member of the Institute of Barristers' Clerks throughout his career, starting as a Junior Clerk representative and currently holding the office of Assistant Treasurer. He also serves on the Panel of Arbitrators for the General Council of the Bar Arbitration Scheme.

Away from the legal world, Robin is passionate about cricket and still manages to play for the XL Club and the Cricket Society XL.



Assistant Practice Director: Samantha Ashford



A Law graduate, Samantha Ashford qualified as a solicitor in 1993. She practised for two years in Harrogate before taking a change in career direction to become a clerk at 9 Woodhouse Square. Here she was responsible for the Civil and Family groups before becoming Senior Civil Clerk in 1998 and moving up to the post of Assistant Practice Director on the merger with 10 Park Square.

Samantha is still on the role as a solicitor and is a member of the Law Society and an Associate Member of the Institute of Barristers' Clerks.
