Robin Butchard, Practice Director at Zenith Chambers since its inception in 2002, and formerly Senior Clerk of 10 Park Square, retired on the 31st March 2010 after nearly 48 years as a clerk.
Robin gave notice to Chambers in June 2009, shortly before going on holiday, and by the time he returned, Chambers had secured the Long Room at Lords for his retirement dinner on the 6th March 2010.
An avid cricket fan, and MCC umpire, Rob was absolutely delighted with this gesture.
Some 140 members and guests attended the 'do'. There was a real sense of excitement, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all.
