In recent times the number of disrepair claims has risen exponentially. Successfully defending them depends on being one step ahead, in terms of legal knowledge, procedural pitfalls, evidential requirements and tactics.
The purpose of the forum is to provide focused expert analysis of matters common to defending disrepair claims. Building on the meeting in Leeds on 25/11/16, the intention is to enable lawyers, surveyors and repair and maintenance managers to meet and exchange information and have an expert panel for question and answer sessions.
Zenith Chambers in association with Sheffield City Council are delighted to be organising this event, to be held at BPP law school’s spacious theatre and have invited experts in the field to deliver presentations on:
2:00-2:15 - Tea and coffee on arrival
2:15-2:45 - Evidence and tactics in disrepair claims – Peter Marcus
2:45-3:15 - What to look for in expert evidence – Sarah Crowley, Associate at AECOM in Leeds
3:15-3:30 - Tea and coffee break
3:30-4:00 - Costs – principles and assessments – Jonathan Holsgrove
4:00-4:30 - Panel session chaired by Tom Tyson
