We may be located in Leeds’ traditional legal quarter, but when it comes to our thinking we take a thoroughly modern approach.
With the opportunities now presented by the Legal Services Act, the legal landscape is dramatically changing. As a result, the relationship generally between barristers chambers and their clients is evolving. At Zenith Chambers we take a progressive approach to developing the relationships we have with our clients. We achieve this by maximising the support we offer; not just in relation to legal advice, but also through our ‘added value’ services, such as our extensive range of CPD training seminars and use of technology.
We are proud of our reputation as a set of chambers dedicated to delivering first class service to our clients and to providing excellence in advocacy and advisory work. Our clients' feedback tells us that this is due in no small part to the experience, knowledge and accessibility of our barristers and to the hard work and efforts of our clerking team and other chambers' support staff.
In 2010, we became the first chambers on the North Eastern circuit to appoint a Chief Executive, Andrew Argyle. Such an appointment is a reflection of our modern approach to delivering a service in a profession steeped in tradition.
Our history plays an important part in who we are today. Many of our past members now hold judicial appointments, both on and off the North Eastern circuit. Many were pupil masters to our current members who have had the benefit of their considerable expertise.
Equal Opportunities
Chambers has a commitment to equal opportunities practices and procedures and we frequently review all aspects of our business to ensure that we meet this commitment.
We will not discriminate on such grounds as gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religion or disability when considering instructions in Chambers. In addition, in accordance with the guidance issued by the Bar Council and the Bar Standards Board, we will provide equal treatment and opportunities to all job applicants, whether they be in relation to clerks, staff, tenants or pupils. We take issues of both equality and diversity very seriously.
Fees
Arrangements are in place for a competitive fee-charging structure. Fees are always transparent and agreed wherever possible in advance. For further information about fees for any particular area of legal service, please contact the relevant senior clerk who will be pleased to advise you.
