Seminars and Events

Since 2007 we have actively developed a comprehensive training and development programme aimed at supporting those who work in the legal sector. Those benefiting from the service include private practice solicitors and legal executives, social workers, the police, charities, local authorities and legal education establishments. On average we deliver over 100 seminars each year equating to around 150 hours of CPD accredited training.

The bulk of training we provide is to solicitors through in-house bespoke training seminars. Organised by Fay Cuthbert, our in-house marketing team work alongside clients to ensure that all seminars are focussed, relevant and goal driven. Other popular initiatives include large scale ‘open’ events such as our ‘Annual Personal  Injury Update’ and our ‘Wine & Wisdom’ evenings. Our annual Munkman lecture is given by a high profile speaker and is popular with local solicitors and the judiciary. Past speakers include Lord Bingham, Lord Mustill, Lord Justice Kennedy , Lady Justice Smith and Lord Walker.

We are happy to liaise with our valued clients to devise bespoke training seminars which satisfy their individual training requirements. Additionally, we encourage approaches from clients who would like our support in delivering seminars as part of their own marketing initiatives.

In addition to seminars and bespoke training, we hold other public and invitation-only events.  We are fortunate in having a number of authors amongst our barristers (see the Authors at Zenith section of our website) and we hold book launches and other such evenings.  This year for example we celebrate 55 years of Munkman on Damages, edited by our Gordon Exall, as well as the launch of a new book on Same Sex Marriages by our Sarah Greenan and Marisa Allman.
