Jonathan's practice focuses exclusively on the criminal area.
Jonathan frequently appears for authorities such as the CPS (Grade 4), HM Revenue & Customs, the DTI, Defra, the Environment Agency, Treasury Solicitor and various local authorities. He is on the Attorney General’s list of approved prosecutors.
This is balanced with a wide defence practise.
Jonathan also appears regularly before Courts Martial, is a Deputy Judge Advocate, and is head of the Courts Martial Practice Group at Zenith. He has developed substantial court martial experience both dealing with civil offences charged within the military context under the Service Discipline Acts, and with the more specific Service offences. He has undertaken work at all of the UK Court Martial centres and in Germany, instructed by independent solicitors or via the Service Legal Aid Authorities. Mr Carroll is very happy to represent service clients wherever they may be stationed.
Jonathan Carroll has had considerable experience and association with service life both through his legal work and, previously, through his service as a Territorial Army officer with the Royal Military Police and latterly with the Royal Mercian & Lancastrian Yeomanry.
Jonathan Carroll also undertakes regulatory work both prosecuting and defending, including Health & Safety Executive cases.
He is reputed for his approachability and a conscientious, tenacious approach to his work.
