Last week the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced the appointments to their new, smaller advocacy panel. We are delighted with outcome, as many of our specialist criminal barristers have increased a level, been added to the Rape Panel or come straight in at level 2 - skipping the initial level 1.
Level 4 = 8 barristers
Level 3 = 6 barristers
Level 2 = 4 barristers
Rape Panel = 10 barristers
Director of Public Prosecutions, Keir Starmer QC said that those on the panel had been through an 'open and rigorous' selection process and that the CPS now have a 'pool of quality assured barristers' to instruct.
For more information about the shake up of the panel, please see the article below posted on the Law Society Gazette website.
