Members of the Zenith Chambers’ Family team impressed and entertained delegates at their ‘Family Procedure Rules 2010- Are you ready?’ seminar at the Sullivan Rooms, Leeds Town Hall, this week.
The speakers, headed up by Clive Heaton QC, gave informative, witty and well-rounded talks to an over-subscribed audience, which included delegates from Leeds City Council and other key private law firms from across the Yorkshire region.
The seminar, which was originally to be held at the Radisson Hotel, was in such incredible demand, that the venue had to be moved to the Sullivan Rooms at Leeds City Council.
Leading family finance barrister, Anthony Hajimitsis was compère for the evening, with Clive Heaton QC giving an interesting account of the ‘politics’ behind the new rules.
The speakers included Sarah Greenan, John Hayes, Marisa Allman and Elizabeth Darlington, each of whom delivered an in-depth talk relating to a specific aspect of the rules, such as the courts general management powers, divorce/dissolution, private and public law proceedings.
Rebecca Roberts, Principle Legal Office, Leeds City Council, commented:
“[The seminar was an] excellent introduction to the new rules.”
Emma Pearmaine, Partner and Head of Family Law, Simpson Millar LLP, commented:
“[The seminar was] perfectly timed and delivered, both in terms of the presenters and the course itself.”
The Family team will commence their ‘Wine and Wisdom’ seminar series on the 21st March 2011 which will be held at the Radisson Hotel, Leeds.
