Practice Summary
Aelred is a senior and busy member of the Chambers family team. His family law practice encompasses all aspects of public and private law children work. He also has extensive experience in financial remedies applications arising out of divorce and separation. Noted for his calm and measured approach he is often able to achieve a settlement where others fail.
Aelred is one of Chambers' Pupil Supervisors and has mentored a number of the more junior members of the family team through their training.
Aelred has presented many seminars on various aspects of both financial remedy and children law and has appeared in a number of reported cases.

Re Bradford MDC v F,K and K [2012] 2 FLR 1374. Whether the mother or 4 year old sibling was responsible for the death of 4 month old infant by smothering. A case of significant legal interest as to the burden of proof and the operation of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Re B-M (Care Orders) EWCA Civ 205 [2009] 2 FLR 20 :Court of Appeal - Muslim children from the Pathan community placed with white western foster carers against a backdrop of serious violence (murder) of a child within the extended family and so called 'honour' crimes
