Andrew has undertaken personal injury work for 20 years. His busy practice covers the full range of such work, acting for both Claimants and Defendant insurers/local authorities. Areas of Expertise

• Fraudulent claims in the civil courts, including alleged staged accidents, LVI, ‘ghost passenger’ and exaggerated injury claims. Andrew is very experienced in conducting such cases to trial, at interlocutory hearings, including unless order/relief from sanctions applications, and advising and drafting.
• Associated cost applications, including wasted costs applications, non-party costs applications against third parties and applications to disapply QOCS.   
• Costs and case management hearings in multi-track claims.
• Procedural applications, including strike out and relief from sanctions.
• Employers Liability Claims, including those by local authority employees.
• Road Traffic Claims, including claims related to emergency service vehicles.
• Injury claims by prisoners and secure hospital patients. 
• Industrial disease, including NIHL claims.

• Road traffic accident claim involving a number of alleged ‘ghost passengers’ in Claimant’s vehicle.
• Claim for wasted costs order against Claimant solicitors and non-party costs against ATE insurers, following alleged fraudulent personal injury claim. Acted at first instance and on appeal.  
• Wasted costs application against Claimant solicitors who came off record after issue of proceedings.
• Serious injury claim by high profile secure hospital patient.
• Claim by pedestrian seriously injured when struck by police vehicle attending emergency call.
• Claim arising from collision between police vehicle attending emergency call and third party vehicle.
• Claim by local authority employee seriously injured in course of duties as refuse collector.
• Tree surgeon seriously injured whilst working for local authority.
