Justin Hugheston-Roberts is a seasoned and experienced practitioner.
Before being called to the Bar he was a senior equity partner in a Legal 500 firm of Solicitors. His practice covers all Criminal Courts across the country, and regularly is involved defending in high profile cases.
One of the first Solicitor-Advocates to be appointed, he was also one of the first to be instructed by the CPS to prosecute in the Crown Court.
Justin is a Direct Access Barrister and also has qualifications to enable him to act in Police Stations as a ‘Duty Solicitor’.
He appears for the defence in Crown Courts throughout England and Wales. He regularly acts as Leading junior and junior alone in lengthy and complex cases including multi-million pound frauds, very large drug importations, murders, rapes and other serious sexual assaults and other offences of violence.
He is a member of the Secretary of States Standing Committee for the Review of Military Law and again appears for the defence in Courts Martial wherever UK Troops are stationed. He is currently the President of the national organization that provide assistance and representation to service personal and their families – ‘Forces Law’.
Justin also sits as a member of the Legal Aid Agency Complex Case Appeals Committee and he also undertakes work as an Independent Cost Adjudicator.
A “Lawyer of the Week” in the Law Society’s Gazette. He has written articles on Military Law, appeared in training videos and has advised on the production and scripting feature films.
