Lucy’s practice covers all aspects of public and private law children work in the High Court, County Court and Family Proceedings Court. She has a special interest in public children work.
Prior to joining Zenith, Lucy spent three years as a legal assistant for Calderdale MBC, concentrating solely on care proceedings and private children work. She has also spent five months working with Kirklees Council appearing in the Family Proceedings Courts and County Courts in care proceedings and private children matters.
Lucy completed her pupillage with the Crown Prosecution Service in London where she undertook all aspects of prosecution work, appearing in the Magistrates and Crown Courts across London. She maintained her interest in family work and took a special interest in the prosecution of child neglect and child abuse cases.
Lucy regularly represents Local Authorities, parents – including those represented through the Official Solicitor, children through the Children’s Guardian and other interested parties.
Lucy has experience of working with vulnerable clients including those with learning disabilities. She is regularly instructed to represent grandparents in private law children matters where there are difficult issues of family relationships.
Lucy prides herself on giving realistic advice in a sensitive and appropriate way, tailored to suit the individual needs of the client.
